Color Information

Chromatics is the study of color. The human eye and brain have varying sensitivity to color because our retinas perceive color slightly different. Other factors, such as the physical properties of an object and the light reflecting off that object also affect our perception. It has been shown that most people perceive colors close to the same way and there are six distinct colors. They are red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. Newton's study included a seventh color, indigo, but most people and scientist do not recognize it as a separate color.
